Where should I start a review for Rachel at Rachel Events? First, let me tell you that I currently live in Seattle WA but my fiance is from Dallas TXand I am from Louisiana. Our families and most of our friends are there so naturally we wanted to have our wedding at HOME. Problem was that I needed someone that I could trust to take my vision and run with it. I would need someone to be my eyes and ears, someone to pretty much plan EVERYTHING because it just wouldn’t be possible for me to fly in from Seattle every time there were flower arrangements that needed to be approved or a cake that needed to be tasted. I had always heard that the day that is suppose to be every girl’s dream often turns into the most stressful, anxiety-filled event of their life. Our wedding planning process could not have been a more enjoyable, exciting, and stress-free time in our lives. The way God orchestrated everything, down to the last detail, was so awesome to experience. A big thanks to Ashlee Voda (of Rachel Events) for planning one of the best weddings I have ever seen (I do realize that I’m partial). Having the opportunity to select Ashlee as our wedding planner was by far one of the best decisions we made during our planning process. Our wedding day at Camp Lucy was perfect in every way; Reflecting on the day, I would say we felt overwhelmingly blessed, calm, peaceful, ready, joyful, and full of love. We wanted our wedding to be intentional in every way, and it was just that.
I really enjoyed working with my coordinator Sarah. She was a pleasure to work with and kept everything very organized for me. She was a life saver the day of the event. I could not have done it without her.
Five stars isn’t enough for Ashlee Voda! This was the single best decision we made during our wedding planning process. Ashlee kept our family happy throughout the entire wedding planning experience. My parents, Jeff and I loved every single second of planning due to having Ashlee there to handle the details and stressors. We had so much fun with the venue shopping, vendor meetings, food tastings, etc. which Ashlee arranged, negotiated and facilitated from day one. I highly recommend booking her for the full package. We had monthly and weekly calls to make sure we were on track. She handled many of our vendor meetings for us, as well as many of the minor details on the wedding day which made our lives so much easier. I don’t think we stressed out once during the entire year, all because of having Ashlee in charge. The wedding day was PERFECT for my husband and I, as well as our parents. We knew we had Ashlee and her team to trust with everything and we just showed up, got married, and celebrated! Ashlee took care of everything: bus schedule, making sure all vendors rec’d their tips, facilitating the entire day, making sure Jeff and I were well taken care of with food and drink, ensuring that all of our stuff made it back to the hotel on the buses…I could go on and on. We also enjoyed getting to know her personally; she loves her clients like friends and my entire family grew very close with her during the wedding planning process. If I had to describe her in five words: overly-organized, confident in her skills, helpful with decision making, creative with ideas/suggestions, and a “get-it-done” person. I am SO thankful to have had Ashlee as a planner and a friend. We already miss her and the wedding planning process…it was seriously that much fun
We hired Rachel for her day of coordination services, which is really much more like a month of coordination package. She was absolutely INVALUABLE for me as a bride planning from out of town; the majority of our vendors were booked through her recommendations and all of her vendors were wonderful!Rachel was always upbeat, excited, and I truly believe that kind of positive energy around you is exactly what a bride needs on your wedding day. She kept the entire day running smoothly and my new husband and I are still in awe of our wedding day and how much we and our guests enjoyed it. With her handling any problems that arose, we were free to enjoy the moment. We even had a friend of the family comment that, “I don’t know what you paid her, but she was worth every penny!”Bottom line: no matter what your wedding vision is, Rachel can and will make it happen. She is hands down some of the best wedding money we spent and I would do it again in a heartbeat. She’s awesome!
Rachel and Sarah were absolutely amazing!! Every vendor Rachel suggested was professional and fabulous. She made the entire planning process seem so effortless and easy. We were blessed with the most amazing wedding on May 5, 2012! Rachel was beyond wonderful and extremely instrumental in the planning process. She has such a creative side and is more than willing to assist you with ideas to help make your wedding perfect for you! Rachel has connections with the BEST vendors too!!! We loved everyone we worked with from invitations, DJ, photo booth, and photography. On our wedding day I had no worries of how the ceremony or the reception would be. We hired Rachel as our Day of Coordinator after she posted a special rate on her blog. I had been going back and forth about the practicality of spending precious wedding money on a planner or DOC, but her discount tipped the scales. From the moment we signed the contract, I knew we had made the right choice. Rachel was extremely valuable throughout wedding planning, providing not only vendor recommendations but also general advice and help when we ran into problems with bad vendors. We didn’t always go with a vendor from Rachel’s list, but it was so helpful to have her suggestions as back-up or as barometers for what we should expect.While most of our decoration elements were a collaboration between myself, the Atrium staff and Di Fiori, Rachel executed our final details perfectly and went above and beyond perfecting the lobby with our extra decorations. I have no doubt that this woman is creative. Rachel is also ferocious in her loyalty to her clients and has an unmatched problem solving attitude. She coordinated the rehearsal, vendors, and wedding day schedule with authority and still managed to get out on the dance floor during the Cupid Shuffle. End the end, Rachel Events is worth every penny.
Sarah with Rachel Events helped my wedding go very smoothly. I was in constant communication with her all the way up until I walked down the aisle. She was very friendly and very flexible. She provided suggestions and insights at the right moments. She really made my wedding planning so much easier. Even at our reception she was on top of things and sticking to our schedule. Rachel was the best thing that could have happened to my wedding! She was responsive, creative, organized, and more than anything very fun and easy to talk to. I could email her about anything and she would either take care of it or point me to a great resource. I was not stressed out at all on my wedding day (how many brides can say that?!) and even have a friend who immediately hired Rachel after seeing how smoothly my wedding went. For these reasons alone I would recommend Ashlee to anyone planning a wedding, but her services on the wedding day made me understand how a wedding planner can turn an event into a life-changing day…My wife and I were able to enjoy our entire wedding day, because Ashlee coordinated with our vendors throughout the day, and kept everyone on schedule as the day went on. Rachel of Rachel Events was the first and only wedding plannerthat we met with. As we drove home from that meeting, my (then) Fiance said we didn’t need to meet with anyone else. Rachel “got” us. She not only understood the unique and different wedding we envisioned, she embraced it. She constantly had out of the box ideas and suggestions, and was able to make them work.Turn around time for questions I had was never longer than a day or two, and almost always was just a few hours. Numerous friends mentioned how smoothly and wonderful the day went by, and how well-organized everything seemed. I can tell you, it didn’t just “seem” that way, it WAS that way. Rachel kept our rogue groomsmen on time and in line, and I never worried or stressed about whether or not the DJ would be late or if the flowers would arrive on time.Bottom line: Worth every penny. I would hire Rachel again, with no regrets.
Rachel provided a customized day-of-coordination package including bride and bridesmaid hair, and made sure that all the details I had planned and negotiated with my vendors came to fruition as I expected. As we got close to the big day, Rachel proved her real worth with invaluable guidance in my final detailing meeting with my venue and caterer, and expert handling of the family and wedding party at the rehearsal. She didn’t even blink at the complex web of exes and in-laws, or the special handling needs they posed. On the day itself, it was Rachel who kept me calm as she also did mine and my 3 daughters’ hair. I am a major control freak, and I was able to relax far more than I ever imagined – I had two tense moments, once when I saw lemons (I had ordered limes) being placed in the water glasses and once when I thought my 17 year old would never be happy with her hair. Rachel managed both of these situations firmly and confidently, allowing me to fully enjoy the beautiful day with my new husband!
Rachel did a great job overall and helped me immensely in planning my wedding. She pointed me in the direction of great vendors that I wouldn’t have known about otherwise. She also helped me design and carry out my vision for the day. Most importantly, she made the wedding day itself stress-free. A wedding planner was definitely the very last expense I thought we needed to spend money on considering what we had to work with financially.
Problem was I had absolutely no idea where to start considering the limited budget.
Starting out on our own was so overwhelming. Beginning with the venue, every place we looked at was well over our limit.
Lucky for me I was engaged to a guy with connections in the wedding world. He just so happens to be one of Rachel Events go-to dj’s.
So Rachel Events was a given for us.
I, however, was a little hesitant at first thinking our budget was going to be impossible to work with. Little did I know the magic that Rachel has in her designer pockets.
The first time we met with her all my insecurities vanished.
She took one look at our budget and what we were wanting for our wedding, smiled at us and said, “This is so do-able!”Plans were in motion right away.
Before the meeting was over we had an appointment to visit a venue that very day, dates set up to meet with a florist and a bride-to-be that was so much more relaxed.The connections that Rachel has are incredible. Even with our limited funding we had the wedding we wanted because of the work Rachel did and the vendors she knows.From first meeting to final congratulatory hugs as we were departing from the wedding, Rachel truly seemed so excited to work with us and help us make our day memorable. I think that was the best part of having her as our planner, the energy and excitement she had for us. She definitely wanted to help make our special day unique and all about us.Going back to that first month of being engaged, being overwhelmed with the whole wedding planning process I may have had my doubts about hiring a wedding planner…
But hiring Rachel Events, absolutely no doubts at all.
Rachel was a perfect day-of planner for my wedding. She helped with preparations many months before the event and was very knowledgeable. On the day of the event I was not worried at all and didn’t even bring any of my vendors phone numbers as I entrusted her to handle everything. Everything ran VERY smoothly and when hiccups arouse she was on top of it. Our transportation for the wedding party from the church to the reception broke down, but the event was not affected at all. Rachel worked with the company to get another bus there asap and arrived right in time. The bus company did not charge me anything for the event either! I had many comments from friends and family that the wedding ran better than any other wedding than they had been to.Also, another great thing about Rachel was her personality. I knew I wanted a planner that was going to be fun and laid back, but also get the job done. She was just that. All of the wedding party thought that she was a lot of fun. Rachel was able to get everybody to do what they needed to do without coming off as snippy or demanding.Rachel also helped give me advice on how to handle some awkward dilemmas that came up with people in my wedding party. Her advice worked wonderfully!I would definitely recommend Rachel to anyone who is looking for someone to help take away all of the stress on the wedding day. It was the best money that we spent out of the whole wedding!

After much discussion with Daniel, it was finally decided that we needed to have a wedding, no matter how small or un-pretty it would be. I had given up the idea of having a beautiful wedding since we were on a super tight budget being in school and all. I browsed through wedding planning websites, trying to gather ideas to make the wedding at least…quaint. Although I’m not much of a girly girl to really care about flowers and colors, I still wanted something picture-worthy. Unfortunately, it only made me more hopeless! Then I remembered my friend Nathan had a sister who was a wedding planner. I checked out her website and fell in love with her ideas. I’ve always known Rachel to be fabulous and chic from the way she dressed and the way her energy spread when she around people. I was able to get in contact with her, and to my relief she began by saying, “You’re going to have a beautiful wedding!” Rachel is able to picture things in her head. Her experience with flowers, colors, and tiny details make her a very proficient wedding planneras she is able to combine the ideas to create something impeccable. Let me just say there were a few disagreements throughout our planning, but they were only because I couldn’t picture in my head what she was talking about! She knows what she’s doing! Given the short amount of time (2 months), Rachel successfully introduced each piece of the wedding planning in a timely fashion! After figuring out my style in only one session, she brought me to a venue which had me sold immediately. She not only encouraged me to voice my ideas, but polished them making me proud to even have thought it. Also, I can’t forget to mention she created the most beautiful bouquet known to man. I was truly blown away when I saw the result of our planning. There seemed to be many components to the wedding, but I could only visualize it through the scribbles and sketches Rachel drew for me during our meetings. Needless to say, Daniel and I were extremely pleased with her help. We couldn’t have done it without her!! Thank you, Rachel! Rachel was a pleasure to work with, my only regret was that we should have hired her much earlier in the process! Rachel was incredibly organized had many great recommendations for vendors and was eager to give us tips on how to stay within our budget. I jokingly referred to her as my drill sergeant for the rehearsal/day of, and thank goodness for that! We had a some-what unruly wedding party and we definitely needed her help to keep focus. I will say for the first time ever, our best man was actually on time thanks to her! The only complaint I had was from my mom who said she was still really stressed out on my wedding day, but I truly don’t think the Dalai Lama could have helped her in that department! Overall, I was very pleased with her services.

I hired Rachel from Rachel Events because she came highly recommend by our DJ. We were looking for help in coordinating the flowers, music, food courses and over all wedding day timeline of events. Rachel came in just two months before the wedding and helped us contract our remaining vendors and ensure that the prices were good and the value and quality was good as well. Rachel and her staff coordinated our staged photo session with our photographer and helped ensure that we received the best pictures possible. She was very friendly to all our guests and helped them to feel comfortable and welcome. Ah, what to say about Rachel. She is just wonderful. She gave me and my husband a wonderful, beautiful wedding on a very tight budget. Rachel Phillips is a fabulous wedding planner! I knew from the beginning that even though I am an organized person, I would not want to handle the stress of planning my wedding alone. Rachel was amazing to work with. She is young, vibrant, detail oriented, sharp, fun, diligent, and motivated. I booked her because I knew there was no way I could handle the day of the rehearsal and the day of the wedding on my own. Little did I know she was going to be needed for a lot more. After finding out a month before the wedding that my wedding cake vendor went out of business 3 months after we booked them…I had to scramble to find a bakery. Rachel was there every step of the way. She helped calm any fears I had…she was always available for any questions I had. I feel she is WAY underpriced for the services she gave. Two thumbs up for sure!!

Before the planning, she gave me a short to-do list while staying one step ahead of me to where I would not have to worry about what’s next. We had some big surprises from vendor’s I had found myself, and Rachel came to the rescue. She completely re planned the Reception and Ceremony in only 10 days and it was better and less expensive than my original plan. She also connected me with amazing photographers, who took hundreds of pictures and everyone was perfect.
Rachel did such a wonderful job with the planning of our daughter Jessica’s wedding. She made the day a very memorable experience for our family and everyone who attended. We had so many nice comments from friends about how beautiful the wedding was and how much fun they had at the reception. Rachel helped out so much and it kept Jessica and I from being stressed. The wedding was a huge success and I know that Jessica enjoyed her special day thanks to all of Rachel’s hard work. Our budget was $15,000.00 and Rachel did her very best to stick to that budget. We only went over by a little bit. I would highly recommend Rachel to anyone that is needing a wedding planner. She is very professional and has so many great ideas when it comes to planning the wedding. We have come to regard her as a dear friend and thank her so much for all her time and hard work. The wedding and reception were both wonderful and we all enjoyed the day so much. Rachel, you are awesome and I hope that you will be available for the next 2 weddings that will be in our future.

Rachel is one of the most organized wedding plannersI have ever seen! She has outlines and back up plan for everything. She literally handles everything for the bride. We are doing a wedding with Rachel in May and we have actually never spoken to the bride herself. Rachel is on top of us for getting the contract details and checks processed. She has timelines for the day of the wedding which is fabulous! As a PhotoBooth vendor it’s great to know when the guests are doing what and how the reception is progressing. Rachel is fantastic! She is inventive and genuinely cares about making events perfect for her couples. From the facility side, it is so refreshing to have a great coordinator who keeps her cool, has the wedding party well organized and makes sure her client’s are completely happy!
